This Honda Pilot that we recently detailed had a terrible mold problem. Mold had covered the interior upholstery and the carpet on the floor. The entire interior had been affected. In humid Florida, it does not take long for mold to set in if the car is neglected.
Mold Grows Quickly In Florida Summers
This kind of problem typically happens to snowbirds who leave their cars in Florida over the hot and humid summer. Accidentally leaving a window cracked open can let in the humidity. Then if the car sits without being cleaned, you can come back in the fall to a bad mold problem. Fortunately, a good interior detail can get your car looking new and fresh.
Peroxide Treats Mold
As nasty as it looks, mold is easily removed using the right treatment. A peroxide solution is the go-to treatment for mold. Apply a mild solution, let it soak for a few minutes and then wipe. If there is still some mold, do it again. Once you have removed the mold, you can continue with the interior cleaning as you normally would. Take a look at the pictures below to see what can be done with a good interior detailing done by a professional detailing crew.
